2026-10-04: RSS is now handled differently here RSS feed

As you may have seen on the updates page, there is now more than one RSS feed. Every individual project that actually has updates now has its own RSS feed for their own updates and the like, and these general updates have one too.

If you were subscribed to the link at jasperredis.net/rss/general.xml, that will now redirect to the general feed. If you want updates for any specific projects, I would recommend subscribing to the feeds for those projects:

Now that the necessary technical info is out of the way, you may wonder:

“Why did you do that?” - you, just now

My primary reasons for splitting these feeds were:

  1. Allowing me to make more updates for minor things in projects without cluttering up the feed, and
  2. Not requiring you to see updates for projects you may not be interested in if you're only subscribed for one, or the general feed.

More on point A, every time I made an update to something I'd think “well, this would be a cool update, but is it really worth adding to The Feed Of Everything Ever™®©€☺? (Trust me, those are all normal legal symbols /j).

Now, I don't have to do that. Say, when I finish remaking the phonotactics of Bakhroshūngz, I can write an update about that instead of having to consider whether it's update-worthy.
I won't be covering every commit I make, of course — that's what Codeberg's repository RSS feeds are for — but I can do things I consider note-worthy. (No, this isn't AI, I just liked the em dash. What I don't like is needing this disclaimer for an em dash.)
Of course, it's not like anybody was ever forcing me to not clutter up the RSS feed, but I didn't want to clutter up the RSS feed.

I'm rambling at this point, so goodbye.
