Notes on Grammar
This page serves to explain how to say things that may be unclear in the grammar.
Currently, there is not much here; later, that will not be true!
Causes of Verbs
How does one say “I exist because a dog ate”? (Don't ask, that was the first example I thought of)
You use delcension:
- Create a compound word of:
- qqhejaq (the act of eating)
- ge (dog)
- Assign “qqhejaq” the causal case, as it is the cause of the verb.
- Assign “ge” the agentive case, as it is the thing that did the eating.
- Your result is “qqhejaqfãlgelhung”.
- Full sentence: “Fērļ qqhejaqfãlgelhung.”
Alternatively, you can use a relative clause, as such:
“Fērļ qqhejaq, āk gekhē”
(lit. translation: I.exist act.of.eating, done.by dog-NOM)
For this use case, that is impractical, but it can be useful for longer causes.
